LAVRADORES DE FEITORIA WINE TOURISM

Opened on April 1, 2022, at Quinta do Medronheiro, the wine tourism program at Lavradores de Feitoria prioritizes both personalized visits, from Monday to Friday, from 10 am to 6 pm, and regular visits, which also take place from Monday to Friday, at two times, 10:30 am and 3:30 pm.

For private visits and the 'Winemaker for a Day' experience, there is flexibility in scheduling, always depending on availability and requiring prior booking.

Although the wine tourism initiative is just over two years old, it has proven to be a genuine success. Its unique characteristics and the way it showcases the work done at Lavradores de Feitoria to visitors have culminated in one of the most important distinctions in wine tourism. The Great Wine Capitals platform awarded it the " Best Of Wine Tourism 2023 " seal in the category of best wine tourism service, reinforcing the natural visibility of the brand's options, as well as its positioning.

This recognition is simultaneously a source of pride for the company from northern Portugal and an important lever for promoting the Douro wine region, a region where tradition and culture are naturally linked to wine, establishing itself as the oldest demarcated and regulated wine region in the world, where wine tourism presents itself here and now as the best instrument/activity for communicating the king of the region.

Direct contact with those who arrive in the Douro Valley, motivated by the discovery of the wines produced here and previously unknown, allows for a complete and authentic explanation of the evolution of this entire metamorphosis.

The cross-cutting nature of wine tourism, which uses wine as a communication anchor, is not limited to itself, but rather enhances a broader understanding of a region with knowledge, flavors, and culture that goes beyond just wine. It therefore encompasses gastronomy, built heritage, protected and UNESCO-recognized evolving landscapes, and folklore that takes us back centuries to hard work.

It is the value of this ancestral and age-old knowledge that differentiates the Gaucho region from other wine tourism destinations. Thanks to the complexity of flavors that the Douro wine region offers to all visitors, the Lavradores e Feitoria wine tourism project has a large and growing following. Driven by curiosity, many come here and are overcome by a feeling of admiration, wonder, and surprise.
