Lavradores de Feitoria was the wine producer chosen to celebrate the 10th dinner promoted by the Wine & Executive Club , the first Portuguese wine club aimed at executives and networking.
The event took place on October 19th. The meeting point was the usual one: the emblematic Pestana Palace, in Lisbon.
Chef Pedro Inglês Marques presented a menu, created specifically to pair with the five wines that the director of oenology at Lavradores de Feitoria chose for this occasion. Paulo Ruão was present to talk about the wines, but also to tell the story of this company whose business model is unique.
As the name suggests, in addition to wine (Wine), there is room for an executive (& Executive). The guest at this meeting was Pedro Loureiro, Chairman of Media Gate, which, more than a media agency or consultancy, is a media and communication manager. Since 2005, he has led a team that works from Commercial Media to Editorial Media, from Digital Media to Social Media; they develop strategies supported by the Target Group Index (TGI), a study that provides dynamic, broad and in-depth information about consumers, allowing us to identify product and service consumption, brand preferences, purchasing behaviour, media consumption, lifestyles, values, attitudes and trends.
With the aim of showcasing the unique characteristics of the terroir of Portugal's first demarcated region, the list of Bacchus nectars that travelled from the Douro Wine Region to the capital was formed by: 'Três Bagos Sauvignon Blanc white 2016', 'Três Bagos white 2016', 'Três Bagos Reserva red 2014', 'Três Bagos Grande Escolha Estágio Prolongado red 2005' and 'Quinta da Costa das Aguaneiras red 2014'.
These five wines reflect the history of Lavradores de Feitoria, a unique project in the country, which was founded in September 2000, based on the sharing of values and knowledge. It currently has 48 shareholders, 15 of whom are farmers and owners of 18 estates spread across the three sub-regions of the Douro: Baixo Corgo, Cima Corgo and Douro Superior. In addition, there is a farm – Medronheiro – already purchased with the company's capital and where the new Lavradores de Feitoria winery and a long-awaited wine tourism space will be built.
About Wine Executive Club:
It is the first private Portuguese club aimed at executives and with the purpose of combining gastronomy – good food and good wine – with networking and business around the table. The monthly dinners, which promote meetings between registered members, are scheduled for the third Thursday of each month and always have two guests: a producer and a personality (opinion leader). The conversation is led by journalist Petra Alves and the meeting point is at the Pestana Palace, in Lisbon, where chef Pedro Inglês Marques prepares the menu to pair with the wines analyzed by wine critic Vicente Themudo de Castro.
