"A day in the 2022 harvest" by Lavradores de Feitoria.

After opening its new winery in 2021 and opening its doors to wine tourism in April 2022, Lavradores de Feitoria, from the Douro region, is launching its wine harvest tourism programme this year, allowing adventurers, the curious and wine lovers to get their hands dirty and get to know this ancient activity, its tradition and culture, as well as visiting the Douro Valley at the most special time of the year. “A day at the Lavradores de Feitoria harvest” is the motto of the experience that will take place at Quinta do Medronheiro – a property with a vineyard, winery and shop, located on Estrada Nacional 323, 10, in Sabrosa – on 29, 30 and 31 August, when the grapes from the six hectares of vineyards that are produced there – all white varieties – are harvested.
The programme starts at 10:00 am, with a welcome for participants, at which point they will be given a briefing and given a harvest kit (bucket, scissors, t-shirt and hat). They will then head to the vineyard, where the grapes will be cut for around an hour. At 11:15 am, it will be time for a guided tour of the winery – during which they will be able to taste grape must (pre-wine) –, the bottling line, the barrel room and the aging cellar. The “Terroir” wine tasting ('Meruge branco', 'Vinha do Sobreiro tinto' and 'Quinta da Costa das Aguaneiras tinto') is scheduled for 12:00 pm, accompanied by a cheese board and regional sausages.
The program costs €100.00 per person and can only be held with a minimum of 4 participants. Registration is mandatory and must be done 48 hours in advance by contacting Eduardo Ferreira, wine tourism manager: winetourism@lavradoresdefeitoria.pt or 968 667 660.
